Activating the IR Pack is very simple and customers can activate the pack through the Airtel website, My Airtel App, USSD and Customer Contact Centers. The advantage of these packs is that customers can activate them at any time and pay only when they actually use them.
Airtel’s Roaming service allows you to use your mobile phone to make or receive calls from almost anywhere in World. A monthly rental of Rs 99 will be charged on International Roaming in addition to the international roaming rates. Rental will be charged only in case of an incoming/outgoing call or outgoing SMS. You won’t be charged anything if you will just remain connected to the network.
Postpaid/Prepaid Users:
• Monthly rental with International Roaming (IR) pack.
• No need to deactivate the IR pack after coming back from roaming.
• No manual network selection is needed as packs are applicable across all operators in the covered countries.
• Discounted rates are applicable on local calls within the country visited and calls back to India.
• Customers can switch off the data services from their mobile handset in case they don’t wish to use mobile internet while roaming.
• Multiple top-ups can be purchased by customers as per usage requirements.
• For customers visiting multiple countries, discounted benefits will be applicable in all the countries mentioned for the pack.
• No security deposit is required to activate International Roaming service.
• Airtel reserves the right to amend or withdraw the offer without prior notice.
• The day the deactivation request is received, no discount is applicable for that day.
• After consumption of free minutes or data, reduced rates will apply as per the pack selected by customers.
• IR packs for company paid connections cannot be activated online or through SMS/USSD/IVR and customers need to contact their company coordinator for activation of pack.
• Free minutes are valid only in IR usage and cannot be used for local/STD/ISD/National Roaming usage.
• Deactivation of all packs may be requested by calling 121 (SMS will be charged on IR rates if sent on IR).
• IR pack discounts are not applicable for premium rate numbers / Maritime / Satellite / Aero mobile / Ship Cruise or Immarsat. Usage on these will be charged as per the charges applicable by the network provider.
• UPE, BH, WB, NESA, ASM, OR customers might have to change their SIM for using International Roaming service on their airtel mobile. For more details, please visit the nearest airtel store before your travel/before you leave.
