Idea Prepaid 2G or 3G to 4G Activation

It is a globally acclaimed technology, offering the latest and fastest gateway to mobile Internet in the country.With 4G LTE you get faster Internet speed along with an unbeatable online experience. Our 4G LTE service is currently available in select cities.

In order to use Idea 4G LTE in these locations, there a few things you will need:

  1. A 4G device which is compatible with Band3/1800 MHz. To confirm if your device is compatible with Idea 4G LTE network, SMS CHECK to 12345 (toll-free)
  2. A new Idea 4G SIM. To know more about how to get an Idea 4G SIM and upgrade to 4G, click here
  3. An Idea 4G LTE plan or prepaid recharge. Click here to choose a suitable Idea 4G plan for your Idea number.

You can choose any one of the options below to get an Idea 4G SIM 1. You can get a 4G SIM from any of the Idea Stores in our select 4G circles. To locate the nearest service centre

If you are a new subscriber:

  • Choose ‘LTE’ or ‘4G’ as the network mode through your 4G device’s ‘Settings’ menu.
  • Dial 1925 and select option 1 or simply type and SMS it to 1925 to activate data service (toll-free).
  • Ensure that you get a recharge or opt for a suitable Idea 4G pack/plan so that you can enjoy 4G speeds and get more data for 4G usage. Click here to choose a suitable Idea 4G plan for your Idea number. Alternatively, dial *121# from your Idea mobile to get plan details.

If you are an existing subscriber:

  • Type SIM and SMS it to 12345 (toll-free) from your existing SIM and mobile number.
  • Once your current SIM gets disconnected, insert the new Idea 4G SIM in your 4G handset’s SIM slot. In case you use a 4G handset with multiple SIM slots, then it is recommended that you use SIM slot 1 for better performance.
  • Choose ‘LTE’ or ‘4G’ as the network mode through your 4G device’s ‘Settings’ menu.
  • Ensure that you get a recharge or opt for a suitable Idea 4G pack/plan so that you can avail 4G speeds and get more data for 4G usage. Click here to choose a suitable Idea 4G plan for your Idea number. Alternatively, dial *121# from your Idea mobile to get plan details.
